Rocky Mountain Air & Lubrication was first established in the suburb of Lockwood, outside Billings, Montana. The two entrepreneurs who created the company were Allen Barta and Vic Stark. In 1984, Allen and Vic decided to launch a company of their own. The intention behind taking this enormous risk was to run a company that focused on product quality and customer care. Opening a small shop in Lockwood, the two of them began working on compressors, air valves, brakes, and repair work. Having products that outlasted and outperformed the competition are the key factors in the success they still have today. Rocky Mountain Air continued to focus on these goals and by 1988 added hydraulic components to their list of services. Only two years later, in 1990, another office was established in Elko, Nevada providing the same quality and services to every customer. In 1997, the company expanded its facilities to its current location in Billings.
